 A man  was born to be hunted like a wild animal
 Because  was poor
 But he refused to accept his 
 And today his honor has  restored
 
  was only nineteen
  he was sentenced to die

 And so he could 
 From then on they chased 
 And searched for him day  night
 all over Spain
 But the search was in  for El Lute
 
 He had only seen  dark side of life
 The man they  El Lute
 And he wanted  home just like you and like me
 In a country  all would be free
 So he taught himself to read and to 
 It didn't help El 
  was one who had dared to escape overnight
 They had to find  Lute
 
 Soon the fame of his 
 Spread like wild  all over the land
 With a price on his 
 People still gave him 
  they gave him a hand
 For they  he was right
 And his fight  their fight
 
 No one gave  a chance
 In  Spain of those days
 On the walls every  they had put up
  face of El Lute
 And he robbed where he could  like once Robin Hood
  finally caught him and
 That seemed the 
 But they  him in vain
 Cause a change came  Spain
 And El Lute
 
  had only seen the dark side of life
 The man  called El Lute
 And  wanted a home just like you and like me
 In a country where  would be free
 And then freedom really came to  land
 And also  El Lute
 Now he walks in the light of a sunny new 
  man they called El Lute
