  was almost Christmas time
 There  stood in another line
  to buy that last gift or two
 I'm really in  Christmas mood
 Standing right in front of

 And when it came his time to

 Daddy says there's not  time
 You see, she's been sick  quite a while

 If momma  Jesus, tonight.”
 
 They counted  for what seemed like years
 And the cashier said, “Son,  not enough here.”
 He searched his  franticly
 And he turned and he looked  me
 He said, “Momma made Christmas good at  house
 though most  she just did without.
 Tell me, sir, what  I gonna do?
 Somehow I’ve got to buy her  Christmas shoes.”
 
 So I  the money down
 I just had to help him 
 And I'll  forget
 The look  his face
 When he  “Momma's gonna look so great.”
 
 “Sir, I wanna  these shoes for my momma, please
 It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are  her size
 Could you hurry, 
 Daddy says  not much time
 You see, she's  sick for quite a while
 And I know these shoes will make  smile
 And I want  to look beautiful
 If momma  Jesus tonight.”
 
 I knew I’d caught a glimpse  heaven’s love as he thanked me and ran out.
 I knew that God had sent that little boy to  me
  Christmas is all about
 
 “Sir, I wanna buy these shoes  my momma, please
  Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size
  you hurry, sir?
 Daddy says there's not much 
 You see,  been sick for quite a while
 And I know  shoes will make her smile
 And I want  to look beautiful
 If momma meets Jesus 
 I want her to look 
  momma meets Jesus tonight.”
