 It was almost Christmas 
 There I  in another line
 Trying to buy that last gift  two

 They counted pennies for what seemed like 
 And the cashier said,  there's not enough here.”
 He  his pockets franticly
 And he turned and he  at me
 He said, “Momma made  good at our house
 though most years she just  without.
 Tell me, sir, what am  gonna do?
  I’ve got to buy her these Christmas shoes.”
 
 So I laid  money down
 I  had to help him out

 I knew I’d caught  glimpse of heaven’s love as he thanked me and ran out.
 I knew  God had sent that little boy to remind me
 What Christmas is all
