 It  almost Christmas time
 There I stood in another 
 Trying to buy  last gift or two
 I'm really in  Christmas mood
 Standing right in front of 
 Was a little boy  anxiously
 Pacing around like  boys do
 And in  hands he held
 A  of shoes
 
 And his clothes were worn and 
 He was dirty from  to toe
 And when  came his time to pay
 I couldn't  what I heard him say
 
 “Sir, I wanna  these shoes for my momma, please
 It's Christmas Eve and  shoes are just her size
 Could  hurry, sir?
 Daddy says  not much time
 You see, she's been sick  quite a while
 And I know these shoes will make  smile
 And I want  to look beautiful
  momma meets Jesus, tonight.”
 
 They counted pennies for what seemed like 
 And  cashier said, “Son, there's not enough here.”
 He searched his  franticly
 And he  and he looked at me
 He  “Momma made Christmas good at our house
 though most years  just did without.
 Tell me, sir, what  I gonna do?
 Somehow I’ve got to buy  these Christmas shoes.”
 
 So I laid the  down
 I just had to  him out
 And I'll  forget
 The look on his 
 When he said,  gonna look so great.”
 
 “Sir, I wanna  these shoes for my momma, please
  Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size
  you hurry, sir?
 Daddy says there's not  time
 You see, she's been sick for quite a 
 And  know these shoes will make her smile
 And I want her to look 
 If momma  Jesus tonight.”
 
 I knew I’d caught a glimpse of heaven’s love as he thanked me  ran out.
  knew that God had sent that little boy to remind me
 What Christmas  all about
 
  I wanna buy these shoes for my momma, please
 It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just  size
  you hurry, sir?
 Daddy says there's not  time
 You see,  been sick for quite a while
 And I know these shoes will make her 
 And I want her to  beautiful
 If momma  Jesus tonight
 I  her to look beautiful
 If momma meets  tonight.”
