 It was almost Christmas 
 There I  in another line
 Trying to buy  last gift or two
 I'm really in  Christmas mood

  his clothes were worn and old
 He was dirty from head  toe

 You see, she's been sick for quite  while

 They counted  for what seemed like years
 And the cashier said, “Son,  not enough here.”
  searched his pockets franticly
 And he turned  he looked at me
 He said,  made Christmas good at our house
 though most years she  did without.
 Tell me,  what am I gonna do?
 Somehow I’ve got  buy her these Christmas shoes.”
 
 So I laid the money 
 I  had to help him out
  I'll never forget
 The look on his 
 When he said, “Momma's gonna look  great.”
 
 “Sir, I wanna buy these shoes  my momma, please
 It's Christmas Eve and  shoes are just her size
 Could you hurry, 
 Daddy says  not much time
 You see, she's  sick for quite a while
 And I know these shoes will make her 
 And  want her to look beautiful
 If momma  Jesus tonight.”
 
 I knew I’d caught a glimpse of heaven’s love as  thanked me and ran out.
 I knew that God  sent that little boy to remind me
 What Christmas is all 
 
 “Sir, I wanna buy  shoes for my momma, please
 It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just  size
 Could you  sir?
 Daddy says there's not  time
 You see, she's  sick for quite a while
 And I know these  will make her smile
 And I want her  look beautiful
 If momma  Jesus tonight
